‘Gold Rush’ by Diane McDonald. Acrylic on Canvas, 102 x 102 cm, stretched and ready to hang.
The old saying goes that ‘there’s gold in them thar mountains’, and there are so many views in our great land that I think are pure gold.
The golden, straw-coloured landscapes of our sometimes rain-parched regional areas still can produce ‘gold’ for our farmers or tourism industry.
Even in the long hot summer, hope springs eternal for rain, as the pods in this piece suggest.
