Summer at Flinders

Just west of the small, seaside holiday village of Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula is some spectacular southern Victorian coastline scenery.

The Flinders Golf Links, situated to the south of the village, above the cliffs and ocean beaches and overlooking the ‘Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary’, provide an opportunity to gently drive along Golf Links Road from West Head toward the Mornington Peninsula National Park and take in this dramatic coastline.

On an unusually still summer’s morning with the clouds beginning to lift, this rugged rocky and often windswept coastline became irresistible because of that calmness.

The muted blues, violets and greys of the Southern Ocean and the soft grey blue sky as we look toward ‘The Pinnacles’, contrasts with the lush green native vegetation in the foreground that skirts the edges of the golf course and along the cliffs in the distance, subdued too because of the light ocean spray.
