I am a Western Australian artist working in both pastels and oils. I paint the ocean and I also paint portraits.

The subject of my current seascapes is the energy of the ocean and its connection to the human soul.

I trained in theatre arts as a scenic artist and designer. This taught me that nothing is impossible with paint, that incredible illusions can be created simply by applying liquid colour.

I definitely have a love affair with paint that is ongoing and I enjoy trying to put my emotion and attitude to the earths beauty into the medium.

I take and use my own reference photos and love visiting the places that I paint. I am always searching for just the right colour, the one that flashes only for a moment as the light shines into the water.

I am inspired by the beauty of the earth; the power and majesty of the natural world; the light and colour, and the crazy energy of the ocean.

There is something about the wild ocean that puts all other thoughts aside and allows me to feel at one with time and place.
