Many years of living and working in the desert in Western Australia inspired my watercolours, with sales interstate and overseas. A childhood north of Meekatharra sparked an interest in the ancient landforms and inland flora which feature in most of my works.
I studied Graphic Design at WAIT (Curtin University) in the 1970’s before moving to live on isolated pastoral properties between Wiluna and Leonora where I developed further art skills externally through TAFE.
Working in the Mining Industry from 1992 onward gave me the opportunity to sell works and undertake commissions.
Living in the South West since 2002 has enabled me to have contact with Galleries and other artists, exploring Acrylics and Mixed Media.
Workshops with artists such as Sarah Francis, Wendy Holmes, Tony Smibert, Brian Aylward and Clifford Bayly have influenced my style.
Camping trips to the Kimberley, Pilbara, Queensland and the N.T. provide me with unlimited subjects as I sketch and paint every day while travelling.
