As a lifelong surfer and open water enthusiast, Raymond has developed an affinity with the ocean, wind and sky. The artworks he now creates are formed from a lifetime of watching waves break, and re-creating that experience as aesthetic abstractions.
Arriving in Noosa Heads fourteen years ago, the artist was inspired by the colors and pristine quality of the environment, and the perfect waves that peeled through the headland bays and beaches. This inspired the underlying influences for his current collection: Wavescapes Reimagined.
Previously an industrial designer in California for thirty years, Raymond worked in consumer products, strategic branding, themed entertainment, automotive and recreation industries.
Raymond attended Art School in Durban, SA., and was awarded a scholarship to attend Art Center College in California, where he achieved his BSc. Degree in Industrial Design.
